I came onboard for this project with issue two, and have been locked in ever since. When we began working together AJ and I had a good, deep discussion about the themes and inferences we’d be working with, which has served the series incredibly well.
Issue by issue, AJ sends me his scripts. We go back and forth a couple of times: a bit of structure, some character development, some line notes, some workshopping details that will help out Red when she starts to draw. Once she has, I look over page pencils, and then colours and letters. Depending on the budget for the issue, I might check the script is optimised against the unlettered pages or against draft-lettered pages. A little back-and-forth for final with Amal, and we’re ready to Kickstart.
Torch was once the best star pilot in the galaxy - a true kid prodigy - until she was put out to pasture. Now older, retired and bored, she lives with her younger brother Spark, drinking away her pension. That is until one fateful trip to the city lands the duo in hot water - reawakening Torch's thirst for adrenaline!
But was a childhood spent at war really the time of innocence that she remembers?
