Nick brought me on to this project when it was still germinating—he had the character writing down, the format (shorts scattered over the entire chronology of her life) and the arc of the series in mind, and had Lender Shell in mind for art on one. After talking about potential pitfalls in anthology series, we decided on asking Lender to define the look of the character and create a character sheet we could give to every artist involved (around twelve or more, at this point), ensuring the character remained stable “as a person” throughout. We workshopped that with her, to incredible effect.

Nick writes his scripts, I give structural, thematic and line notes. We talk about which artists would be best for which stories, and I give notes on their pencils. The majority of the stories then go to colourist AHG (I give notes on those where necessary) and letterer DC (likewise). I also workshop the blurbs and KS copy with Nick.
